Jeera (Cumin) Rice

Jeera (CUMIN) Rice

Ingredients: 

Rice – 2 cups
water – 4 cups
Cumin seed – 2 tab. spoon
Green chili – 2 or to taste
Oil – 3 tab. spoon
Bay leaves – 2
Salt – to taste

Method:

  • Wash rice properly and put in a rice cooker with four cups of water.
  • Let it cook. You can use any cooking pan to cook the rice.
  • if you are cooking in a different pan keep checking until rice is soft.
  • Pour little more water if needed.
  • In another pan heat three tablespoons of oil and add cumin seed, bay leaves and green chilli and fry until it
    changes it’s colors into golden.
  • Keep the heat on medium.
  • Add cooked rice and then add salt and mix it well .
  • Turn off the heat and cover the rice with lid and keep it for 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Serve hot with any kind of curry, pickles or chutney according to your test.

Note: If you are cooking rice in different pan use little extra water and keep on eye on
your rice otherwise it may get burn.
